Please take note of this, it is different from last school year. You will only be able to post to projects that are "open" to your class. You also need your parent code (which has not changed unless you left the school and came back.) Any questions, please email me sparadiso@stchristophersi.com

I will be posting art supplies and attachments here again for the people on Zoom. Please note that attachments will be at the bottom of this page and labeled with grade and date. Students in person do not need to print attachments, they will be handed out in class.

Thursday, March 17

Kindergarten- Virtual students were sent home a St Patrick's Day packet for art. Please have crayons, glue, and scissors ready as well.

Grade 3- We will finish our cubist self portraits. Virtual students will need a drawing of themselves, a large sheet of paper, scissors, and glue.

Grade 5- We will finish our cubist Easter eggs. Please have markers for art.

Grade 8- We will finish our Fauvist style drawings. Please have markers and crayons.

Thursday, Feb 17

Kindergarten- Virtual students will need a few sheets of construction paper- yellow, red, orange, and some foam letters (if you have them, otherwise they can be drawn). Everyone needs scissors and glue.

Grades 3 & 5- Virtual students need a sheet of unlined white paper, green, and yellow construction paper. Everyone needs scissors and glue.

Grade 8- Virtual students will need a sheet of paper and pencil.
 

Tuesday, Feb 15

Grade 1- Virtual students will need a sheet of white paper, a shamrock shape, and markers.

Grades 2, 4, & 6- We will finish our Seurat inspired picture today. Please bring markers.

Grade 7- Virtual students will need a sheet of unlined drawing paper. Everyone needs a pencil and
black sharpie.



 

Thursday, Feb 10

K- Virtual students need a sheet of red paper and a sheet of white. Everyone needs glue and scissors.

3- Virtual students need a sheet each of red, white, and pink paper. Everyone needs glue and scissors.

5&8- Virtual students need a sheet of black, red, white, and purple paper. Everyone needs scissors and glue.

Tuesday, Feb 8

Grade 1- Virtual students need a sheet of red construction paper and 2 sheets of brown construction paper. Please print out the "Beary template". Everyone needs scissors and glue.

Grades 2, 4, 6- Virtual students will need 1 unlined sheet of white paper. Everyone needs markers.

Grade 7- We will finish our Seurat inspired art today. Don't forget markers!

Thursday, Feb 3

Kindergarten- Virtual students will need the "Tiger" attachment packet below, and a sheet of orange construction paper. Everyone needs scissors, glue, and a black crayon. Parents please check to see if your child's glue is still full. A backup glue stick is always a good idea!

Grades 3, 5, and 8- Today we will finish our Seurat pointellism project. Please have markers for art.

Tuesday, Feb 1

Grades 1,2, & 4- If you are virtual you will need the "Tiger" attachment packet below. You will also need a sheet of orange construction paper. Everyone needs scissors, glue, and a black crayon or marker.

Grade 6- Today we will finish our mummy project. Please have all supplies with you for art.

Grade 7- Virtual students will need an unlined sheet of white paper (printer paper is fine). Everyone needs a set of markers.


 

Thursday, Jan 27, 2022

Kindergarten- Virtual students should print out the "Groundhog Day" attachment below. In class we will also be using a small sheet of cardboard and popsicle stick, but it's not necessary. All students should have scissors, glue stick, and crayons.

Grade 3- Please have your water project ready for class. I will be collecting it. Virtual students can submit through Artsonia. For our new project all students will need markers. Virtual students will need an unlined sheet of white paper. (Printer paper is fine!)

Grade 5- If you have not handed in your water project, please give it to me today. Virtual students should submit through Artsonia. Today we will finish the pointellism project that we started last class. Please bring colored markers to class (any type is fine!).

Grade 8-  Please make sure that all of your work has been turned in for this quarter (Starry Night, CYO Christmas, and the DEP Water project). If you are virtual you can add them to Artsonia or email them to me sparadiso@stchristophersi.com. These are overdue and MUST be in by today.  Everyone will need markers for today's art project. Virtual students will also need a sheet of unlined printer paper.


 

Tuesday, Jan 25, 2022

Grade 1- If you are virtual and would like to participate in the "sewing" part of the lesson, please have a sheet of cardboard with holes punched around the edges and some yarn. (In school our cardboard is about 9x5"). You will also need a sheet of red paper and crayons. If you do not have the sewing supplies you can draw with us during the second part of the project.

Grade 2- Virtual students need a sheet of red construction paper and 2 sheets of brown construction paper. Please print out the "Beary template". Everyone needs scissors and glue.

Grade 4- We will finish the water conservation contest. If you are virtual you can submit it through artsonia when you are finished.

Grade 6- We will wrap our mummies during art! Bring scissors to class and don't forget dolls and any decorations that you want for your project. If you are virtual you will need strips of newsprint and glue to create your mummy. You can print the Egyptian art sheets below and make decorations for your box as well.
Congrats to Marissa for placing in the CYO Christmas contest!


Grade 7- We will finish the water conservation contest. If you are virtual you can submit it through artsonia when you are finished.

Kindergarten-  Virtual students please print "animals" and "mitten" attachment (at the bottom of this page) . All students will need scissors, glue and crayons.

Grade 3- You will need an unlined sheet of drawing paper.

Grade 5- Please have your water project finished for class. I will be collecting. (Virtual students must turn in on Artsonia if you have not done so already). For today's lesson virtual students need a sheet of unlined paper. All students will need markers.

Grade 8- We will finish the water project today. If you are virtual please turn in on Artsonia.
 

If you did not turn in your CYO picture, please add it to Artsonia. Thank you!

Please check your children's art supplies each week and be sure to replenish glue sticks and crayons when needed. Glue sticks should be "all purpose". Washable will frustrate the children and does not stick well. If you have not done so already, send in a small rescent photo of your child that will fit inside a 3" circle. Thank you!

Election Day Zoom 11/2/21

Grade 1: Please have the red and blue packet that you were given in school with you for art, along with crayons, scissors, and glue.

Grades 2,4,6, & 7: Please have a sheet of plain white printer paper, along with pencils and something to color with. You may finish for homework. The project will be due on Tuesday, Nov 9.

All grades- Please bring a rescent pocket sized photo of yourself (a school photo is perfect) to art. Due 11/30.

Welcome Back to ART!

I hope you had a fun and relaxing summer!

Here is the list of art supplies. Since we will be working in your classrooms again this year it's important to be prepared. Check your supplies weekly and replenish when needed.  New students will be given a slip of paper with a special code for Artsonia, our online portfolio site. Please be sure to sign on to your Artsonia.com account and have parents grant permission. Do not lose your special code, you need it to log in. All of our artwork will be posted on Artsonia. It's fun to look at all of the amazing student work over the years!

*Please have a full sized folder to hold your work. This will be your portfolio.


*Sharpened pencils


*Crayons (no more than 24)


*Safety scissors


*Large non-washable glue sticks (2)


*Kindergarten- oversized t-shirt or smock in a zip lock bag (I will let you know when to bring it)


*Grades 2 and up, washable markers


*Grades 5 and up, 1 black sharpie


*Small ruler and circle container top to trace if you like

*Colored Pencils

*Paint brush

*a set of washable watercolors (like crayola) to keep home in a ziplock bag. I will let you know when to bring them in.

Please grant permission on Artsonia if you have not already. If you are new to the school your child has brought you home a special code to login. The older children working from home are familiar with the online gallery and should be able to snap photos of their work to post. Please submit your work from home. You will know which folder to post it to when you go to the site, it is organized by grade and project.

Your child can use iPads or similar devices (or even a browser) to photograph their own artwork, make edits and enter artist statements - all on their own! The artwork will be reviewed by the art teacher prior to being published.
