For those of you familiar with RSS feeds the following will be of no interest to you as I’m sure you already subscribe using a reader such as google, bloglines etc.

However, for those of you not familiar with RSS feeds and In an effort to make it easier for you to keep up-to-date with events and the daily happenings at the school, you now have the option to subscribe to St. Christopher’s Website via email updates.

By submitting your email address in the form located on the left, and putting a check mark in the ’subscribe’ box, you will be sent an email ‘EVERY TIME’ a post is published or updated on the site. How often you receive emails is up for discussion, every time something new is posted might be a little to much, and I might change it to emails twice a day, both times after 3P.M.

It’s a great addition to the site, and will ensure you never miss an important event, fund raiser or homework assignment.

This is a new feature and I’d like some input or suggestions so I’m leaving the comment section open. If you’d rather email me instead of leaving a comment below, my email link is also on the left hand side of this page.

It is recommended you become a registered user of the site in order to take advantage of the added benefits.

As a registered member you can configure your profile . You will be able to comment on posts that allow comments, and you will have the option to only subscribe to those categories that pertain to you and your child/ren and decide if you want the full updates emailed to you or just an extract of the post. Only subscribing to important categories will significantly cut down on the email alerts.

ie. If you only have one child in 3rd grade, it’s of no benefit for you to get email alerts when another grade posts homework or class reminders.

You can un-subscribe to site alerts at any time by going to your profile and un-checking all the categories or by logging out and putting a check mark in the un-subscribe box and submitting it with you email.

The first page of our website has been altered to make it less cluttered.

The main part of the website is now the bulletin board with easier navigation. I’m currently working on a whole new look so things will change hopefully within the week.

Unfortunately while moving things around the data base went a little awry and none of the user names were transfered. Sorry about that, but Murphy’s law dictates, “what can go wrong, will”. Please feel free to register again if you wish.

If you find any errors on the site, broken links etc. please send me a quick email or leave a comment here and I’ll fix them as soon as possible.

Although the calendar is displaying properly in firefox and opera, it’s cutting off half way through Wednesday when viewed using internet explorer version 6 or lower. Please update to Internet explorer 7 or view full page.

The site software needed to be upgraded which is why the pages were unreachable this evening for an hour or so.

Unfortunately the upgrade came with a few problems of its own. The theme used throughout the site wasn’t compatible with the new software version so we’re left with a slightly different look.

I’ve completely re-done the photo gallery (link on the left), if you remember the password you should be able to view it.
