Grade 8 – Native Americans

Published by admin under Computer Technology, Grade 8

Today many Native Americans still live on reservations. Some reservations have developed their own businesses and industries to help make them more self-sufficient. Research to find information about a reservation in the United States today. Choose a tribe and write a report describing one of the major businesses on that reservation. Don’t forget to write a brief history about the reservation.

Grade 7 – For Sale Sign

Published by admin under Grade 7

We are designing a For Sale sign using MS publisher. We will be selling a used car – a car of your choice. Research information about your car from kbb.com.

Things to think about:

  1. What makes you stop and look at a sign in a store window?
  2. Think about what information is important to have on your sign
  3. Don’t forget to put a photo of your car on the sign
  4. Maybe the price is most important – if you think so, have the price stand out in a larger font size and different color to the rest of the information
  5. Use tables to display your information neatly

Things we’ve already learned to do in MS Publisher:

  1. Center text
  2. Change color and size
  3. Wordart
  4. Format the picture (wrap the text around the picture using a ‘right click’)
  5. How to put a border around a picture, text box, individual cells in a table

Draw a quick sketch on a scrap piece of paper to give you an idea on how your want to set our you sign.

Grade 4 – State of New York

Published by admin under Grade 4

NY State

This is the map you should have taken home with you. Next week you will be asked to label it. For example I might ask you to label Staten Island, or Long Island. Those aren’t on the map above, but we discussed where they were while in the classroom so you should be able to find their position on the map with ease.

The site we visited in Class was sheppardsoftware
